The academy conducts a festival called Sabras to celebrate the grandeur of Indian music. It is named after the title given to Ustad Bande Ali Khan, the first luminary of Kirana Gharana.
First Sabras was conducted on June 10, 2015 to pay homage to the four pillars of Kirana Gharana, Ustad bande Ali Khan, Ustad Abdul Kareem Khan, Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan, and Ustad Shakoor Khan. This grand event held in Stein auditorium in India Habitat Centre, New Delhi also marked the establishment of Kirana Gharana music Academy. It was telecasted by Rajya Sabha T.V. in their popular show “Colours of India”. Thereafter, two more festivals have been conducted on December 20, 2015, and December 29, 2016.
The event demonstrates various forms of Indian music and invites the prominent figures of music world to mesmerize the audience with their performances. At the same time, it gives the opportunities to the upcoming talent showcase their skills.
